AGROBALT Agriculture and Food Exhibition, Vilnius 29. April – 01. May 2010
Hungary participated for the 3rd time at AGROBALT 10 Agriculture and Food Fair held in Vilnius between April 29th – 1st May, 2010. AGROBALT hosted altogether 180 companies out of 12 countries.
On the opening day, the Hungarian stand was opened as the only stand by the H.E. Dalia Grybauskaite, the President of Lithuania and Dacian Ciolos, EU commissioner on Agricultural Affairs in the presence of Andrius Kubilius Lithuanian Prime Minister, Sergej Sidorski, Belorussian Prime Minister as well as the agriculture ministers of 4 countries and H.E. Mr. Péter Noszkó-Horváth, Ambassador of Hungary. The Hungarian stand was visited later by H.E. Valdas Adamkus, the former President of Lithuania as well as Mr. Kazys Sivickis, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture of Lithuania.
Altogether 14 Hungarian companies participated on the exhibition including Detki Keksz Kft., Vitamór Kft., Cerbona Zrt, ECC Consulting Baltic UAB, Debreceni Group Meatindustry Kft, Hungerit Zrt., Pick Szeged Zrt., Kincsem Cooperative, Németh Winehouse Kft, Hiksz Kft, Kincses István individual entrepreneur, 9MM Trade Kft, Cipker Kft, and V&VA Kft.
Among the Hungarian participants several companies including Cerbona Zrt and Vitamór Kft started their shipments to the Lithuanian market already in the course of the last 12 months.
Some Hungarian produces are well known on the Baltic markets such as the canned vegetable and fruit products, fresh fruits and the Tokaj wines. The exhibition granted an excellent opportunity to present such so far less know excellent Hungarian goods such as the salami products, sheep cheese, cereals, muesli, fruit jams, syrups, quality table wines and sweet products.
In a press release by the MTI (Hungarian News Agency) it was noted that according to the 2009 trade statistics, the SMEs’ role within the 140 million Euros worth of Hungarian exports to Lithuania and within this especially the proportion of the agriculture and food sector products are becoming more and more dominant.
The Hungarian participation on AGROBALT was organized by the Lithuanian – Hungarian Chamber of Commerce founded on Hungarian initiative in November 2009.
